Painted Wooden Labels

I have been really trying to clean and consolidate some of my supplies.  I feel like stuff is all over the place!!  I had some spare baskets, these wooden circles from Joann's, and some chalkboard vinyl.  The chalkboard is great because you can change the contents, erase and write again.  They make things look so neat!

First, I painted the circles.  I have been using some of the new Martha Stewart craft paint.  I love the finishes that they come in, and the colors are delicious!  This color is called "Summer Haze."

Once the circles were dry, I sanded them with some steel wool just to smooth them a bit.  I cut out the chalkboard vinyl with a circle cutter and centered it on top of the wooden circle.

If you haven't seen the Bistro Chalk Marker, they are really awesome for chalkboard vinyl.  They come in a variety of colors, too.

I glued some linen twine to the back of each circle and attached it to the basket.  Easy to make little tags to keep things organized.  Anyone have any fun and easy labeling tips out there?
